Though Bollywood is slowly becoming a place where actors are hired for their talent and not just looks and complexion, there are a few cases where actors have lost work because of looks and complexion. Recently, Chitranganda Singh, who is considered talented and good-looking, opened up that her journey in Bollywood hasn’t been a smooth ride. In a recent interview to Bombay Times, the actress opened up on how it feels to live life with dusky skin.
The actress, who is from Punjab, also mentioned that she lost many modelling assignments because of her dusky complexion. She says she faced biases, when she grew up in Utter Pradesh and Rajasthan for the same reason. It was lyricist, Gulzar, who selected her for his music video, which made her realize that not everyone was looking for fair skinned people. The actress took to Instagram recently and published a post, saying that, she is brown and happy.
